ONE BRAND / COUNTLESS STORIES

Photographed through the visual language of contemporary fashion, the campaign is clean, timeless and entirely character-driven. It is not about performance, but about people. Tilak becomes part of each individual’s identity, moving effortlessly across generations, cultures and lifestyles.

For forty years, Tilak has never been defined by a single product. It has always been defined by the people who chose to wear it. Across four decades, the world has changed, generations have changed and the way we move through life has evolved. Yet Tilak has remained a constant companion for people who value craftsmanship, purpose and timeless design.

Rather than celebrating forty years of products, this campaign celebrates forty years of people. It tells the story of the brand through the individuals who have made Tilak part of their lives.

Idea

Instead of creating a traditional outdoor campaign, we approach Tilak through the visual language of contemporary fashion photography. The focus shifts away from performance and moves towards personality, identity and style. The garments are no longer presented simply as technical equipment but as pieces that naturally become part of the people who wear them.

The campaign is built around seven distinctive personalities, each representing a different generation, background and way of living. Together, they create a portrait of a global community connected by a shared appreciation for quality, longevity and thoughtful design.

Minimal.

Confident.

Timeless.

The visual language draws inspiration from contemporary luxury fashion campaigns rather than traditional outdoor advertising. Clean compositions, sculptural lighting and timeless styling create a premium, editorial aesthetic. Architectural spaces and minimal environments keep the attention entirely on the people, the silhouettes and the materials.

The result feels confident, sophisticated and intentionally understated.

THREE MAIN JACKETS, but..

The campaign is built around the new Alpamayo collection — Original, Tricolor and Solid complemented by carefully curated archive garments from Tilak’s forty-year history. Together, they naturally communicate the brand’s evolution, craftsmanship and timeless design.

OUTPUT

The Hero Image

The campaign begins with one iconic group portrait featuring seven individuals. There is no hierarchy and no obvious protagonist. Each person brings their own character and presence, while Tilak becomes the common thread that connects them all.

Some wear the new Alpamayo jacket, while others are dressed in carefully selected archive pieces from different periods of the brand’s history. Rather than presenting a timeline of products, the image expresses forty years of evolution through people.

Individual Portraits

The hero image is followed by a series of individual portraits, allowing each personality to tell their own story. These portraits are not about profession or achievement, but about character. Every individual wears Tilak in a way that feels authentic to their own life, showing how the garments naturally adapt to different people, styles and environments.

Together, these portraits create a contemporary interpretation of forty years of Tilak.

LOCATION

To keep the visual language timeless and globally relevant, the campaign will be photographed either in a studio or within a minimal, monochromatic environment such as a quarry or sand pit. These locations provide a clean and neutral backdrop, allowing the focus to remain entirely on the people, the garments and their stories.

If the studio option is selected, I would recommend shooting at Merge Studio Prague, where I am based. This would provide the greatest flexibility and production efficiency.

CAST

Casting is the emotional core of the campaign. The seven personalities should feel authentic rather than aspirational. They represent different generations, ethnicities, genders and lifestyles, reflecting the diversity of the people who have worn Tilak over the past forty years.

Rather than searching for outdoor heroes, we are looking for strong individuals whose presence alone tells a story.

One of the seven personalities could be Tilak’s founder. Rather than celebrating him separately, he becomes part of the community that has shaped the brand over the past forty years. It is a subtle gesture that adds authenticity to the campaign while creating valuable opportunities for PR and anniversary storytelling.

PRODUCTION

The concept is designed to maximise creative output while keeping production efficient. With the right preparation, casting and styling, the complete campaign can be photographed in a single production day.
